When we decided to make the move to France, we knew life was about to change in a big way. Like any good adventure, there have been plenty of challenges and wins along the way. We’re sharing our relocation story—from figuring out French bureaucracy to discovering our favorite local bakeries and markets. There have been awkward language-barrier moments, heartwarming stories of kindness and welcome, and, of course, a little humor to keep us going.

We arrived in France on July 30, 2026, flying into Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport with far too much luggage. Our plan was to use the French rail system to travel from Paris to Agen, where we would stay for three days while waiting for our landlord to return from a business trip and conduct the walkthrough for our year-long furnished rental in Villeneuve-sur-Lot.
